Adam Kohlhaas
In a society that is so heavily based on capitalism, the exchange of money is commonplace. There are countless coins and dollar bills floating around in this country, drifting into every nook and cranny. What I wanted to do is to show a sort of vignette into the life of money. Where has the money gone? What is it doing right now? It is not meant to be glamorous or exciting. The life of money is not one of excitement, but slow and abusive. I wanted to show the money as it exists in our world, in the context of our world.
After I developed my concept, I began to plan out what sort of shots I wished to achieve to create these vignettes. Shooting money in public proved to be more difficult than I had anticipated due to people being generally reluctant to allow themselves to be filmed handling money in a business setting. Regardless, most of the shots I wanted to shoot were achieved. However, the restrictions of the equipment available to me were a significant hindrance to realizing my vision.
