Editing Tutorial - Titles and Effects
Due February 24th
Objective:
Using the video provided by your instructor you will capture and re-edit it demonstrating your ability to add titles, transitions, effects, and still imagery. Note: this is NOT a group assignment and your project should contain unique and distinctive elements. You will be introduced to editing with Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Capturing and exporting video will be discussed.
Assignment:

Make copy of the movie files (provided by instructor) to a DVD/thumb drive. Bring in a thumb/portable drive to all classes in order to save all Premiere/AE Projects.

Review footage in Premiere, and formulate a paper edit (EDL) that will be turned in with assignment.

Set up your project to edit in Standard Definition DVNTSC.

Edit movie. Attempt to create (improve from the in-cam edit) a rhythm and pace.

Make use of transitions and effects to heighten or stylize the piece.

Consider using a soundbed for the piece (though not required and if used, credit the author).

Create a title and credits for the piece and place at the beginning/end of the video.

Export with appropriate architecture and codec for upload to Vimeo.
Requirements (minimum):
titles/credits
color adjustments as needed
4 transitions
2 video effects
1 speed/duration change
2 video track overlays using rubber bands (similar to opacity in Photoshop)
Documentation:
Remember to upload an annotated EDL (this will suffice as your documentation). |
